MAI provides critical support to Maritime Surveillance Systems Program Office (PMS 485) in Developmental Testing of the LFA/CLFA systems, in the development of draft operational guidance, and in the preparation of training supporting system introduction. This support is provided via subcontract to The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL). MAI personnel have been deeply involved with LFA development since the inception of the program and have a wealth of experience with LFA sensors in virtually every environment in which sensor have been tested or employed. MAI provides observers for in-plant and at-sea testing and supports post-test analyses. MAI personnel are involved in processing system testing throughout development for early identification and correction of system processing problems. MAI provided key sections of the Draft Operator Guidance Manual aiding operators in understanding how to optimally employ the system and interpret system responses. Key personnel at MAI provide invaluable technical and operational expertise to PMS 485 as consulting services as needed.
