Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (IUSS) Surveillance Towed Array Sensor System (SURTASS) Low-Frequency Active (LFA) and Compact Low-Frequency Active (CLFA) Testing

Project Details
MAI provides critical support to the Maritime Surveillance Systems Program Office (PMS 485) in Developmental Testing of the LFA/CLFA systems, in the development of operator manuals, and in the preparation of training supporting system introduction. This support is provided via a subcontract to the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL). MAI personnel have been deeply involved with LFA development since the inception of the program and have a wealth of experience with LFA/CLFA sensors in virtually every environment in which the sensors have been tested. MAI provides observers for in-plant and at-sea testing and supports post-test analyses. MAI personnel are involved in processing system testing throughout development for early identification and correction of system processing problems. MAI provided key sections of the Draft Operator Guidelines Manual aiding operators in understanding how to optimally employ the system and interpret system responses. Key personnel at MAI provide invaluable technical expertise to PMS 485 as consulting services as needed.
