Sonar Systems Engineer

Job Brief
Marine Acoustics, Inc. is seeking an experienced engineer to conduct testing, evaluation, and assessment of advanced sonar technologies for U.S. Navy submarines, surface ships, and aircraft. The engineer would participate in work involving the development of cutting-edge Naval technology across a broad range of Navy development efforts. The position will also include independent research and development opportunities. 5 or more years of Navy ASW operational experience and/or equivalent work experience in an ASW related technical field desired. MS in mathematics, engineering, or physics academic background also desired, to include a strong Sonar signal processing base. Good facility with MATLAB and/or other analytical computer programming languages are required. On-site availability as well as the ability to travel and/or support at-sea testing as required. Must be able to hold a government security clearance.

Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain Sonar analysis tools
• Support laboratory and/or at-sea testing
• Develop written reports and presentations
• Work with and brief Navy Sponsors
• Participate in Navy Sonar Working Groups developing advanced technologies

Requirements
• 5 or more years of Navy ASW operational experience and/or equivalent work experience in an ASW related technical field
• BS or higher in mathematics, engineering or physics
• Familiarity with MATLAB and/or other analytical computer programming languages
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Effective oral and written communication abilities
• Be able to hold a government security clearance
